How Much Are You Paying To Host Your Website
Posted: Fri 22 Aug, 2008 2:31 pm
I have recently started selling hosting as a way to make a few extra dollars.
How much are you paying to host your website? I charge $10 per month or $100 per year. Is this too expensive? too cheap? Whats your opinion on how much you should be paying to host your website.
All depends on what you provide

Your pricing sounds good assuming your services are up to standard with the competiton. I have to admit that when comparing hosting with offshore offers, NZ is generally more expensive. For example, My NZ host for http://www.insites.co.nz
only gives me 50mb space for $15 a month where as the site I host http://www.ondemandmentoring.com
in the states is US$4.95 a month for 1,500 GB! of space and a free domain - top that if you can???
So if you're just marketing to NZers, you should do Ok.
Domains 4 less

im getting 1Gb for $4.99 from Oxyhosting
but thats nothing gr8,
however the gr8 stuff is... they have an affiliate program that i am a part of and they provide a readymade website to order and stuff, has worked quite well for me actually.
shared or dedicated server

I assume that is for a shared server do you do a dedicated server or perhaps in the future if so how much,do you have a help desk.

Sounds pretty right to me
I have used http://www.myhost.co.nz
and i have found them very good.
The best you can do is check the competition and compare prices vs services. A lot of competition out there - Good luck
